In a bright orange stuff sack made for them on the outside of the pack. I stick the bottom of them in the side pocket, and the top inside the compression loop. I also have a Circuit.

I don't use the bladder sack, I use the big mesh pocket on the outside of the pack. Sorry to confuse anyone...

I might try that, my only concern with putting them on the inside was puncturing something, and in the mesh was again puncturing something.

I hear ya, I had the same concern. The Jacks-R-Better bag is a nice, strong material so it works really well.

I don't use the WBRR, but I put my bridge poles in my sit pad, inside my pack. I have a golite jam and use my pad as a support...just slide my poles into the folded pad for additional support. I place them along the sides.

+1 I place the bottom of my pole/stake bag into one of my side water bottle pockets and then tighten with compression straps above. Pretty bomber....can't slip out the bottom.

I have a sil-nylon stuff sack custom made for the poles. I put them inside my ULA Circuit pack against the side wall. It would have to be a pretty severe hit to the pack for the rounded tips of the poles to poke through.

The fact that the poles are inside my pack gives me great assurance that they won't get lost along the trail. Having said that, if I had a Mariposa with a long outside pocket, I'd be tempted to put them in that.
