Shane's method is how I've used mine. I can go right to the floor.

I can't remember the thread name and I tried searching for Shanes method but couldn't find it. Maybe someone remembers how to find that thread.

All - Problem solved. I love the fact that you can tighten up without leaving the comfort of the hammock, as WV mentioned. It's a great day when you learn a new trick, thanks for sharing!

I have these on every tarp I have and a few extras laying around, they are cheap enough and work wonderfully well... I have 1.75 Zingit running through mine... Works very well indeed...

Ps mine are the glow in the dark kind, very cool but sometimes confusing waking up from a slumber and wondering "what the heck is that?" Until you awake enough to realize what your looking at...

Re: Lawson Equipments Mini Line Locks

I have the glow in the dark ones as well, ukhammocks also sells them. I've not used them yet as the 1.5mm dyneema im using is too slippery for them but when I finally get some zing it I'll be giving them a go.

used mini line-loks, glow in dark, the last weekend out. worked great with 2.2 zing it. even on the tarp ridgeline.(2 separate lines) we had crazy winds of 40-50 miles an hour one day, monsoon rain the next. no slippage. I did not see Shane's video before today, but that is how my tie outs are, except I don't have zing it on the guy lines, just ridgeline. next zing it order will be to convert the rest of the way.

I also got some the glow in the dark ones from the HF Store a few years back. Very easy to use.

I ordered some last week, before seeing this thread. Can't wait to get them for the family hammocks.

There are supplied with Hilleberg tents - work well. (Also available from Hilleberg..)

There's quite a variety available from some suppliers:
