Outstanding effort Grizz! Love your analytical approach. And your ability to express it to those of us not quite on your level. Thanks!

Awesome video, Grizz. I appreciate all the insight and thought that you have put into this topic.
However I have my own problem with the SRS vs UCR vs WS vs Webbing question. It is not the length of the hammock in my mind that must fit, it is the length of the tarp. But perhaps I'm the only one who feels compelled to stay dry as possible at night.

Busted! They are all Red Rangers. Doesn't roll off the tongue quite so easily as cops though
Thanks SmokeBait. Your whoopies are safe!
Yes, in the logic biz we call that a 'necessary condition'. I choose 10' as a minimum distance because I can work a JRB 11x10 tarp in between trees close to 10' apart. 11' or 12' minimum is probably more normal.
thanks for watching!

Not to burst anyone's bubble about this statistical summary of SRS, but I would like to point out there is a major flaw in your assumptions: The minimal distance the SRS offers is actually, in real-world testing, 25% greater than the Professor uses in his assumptions. A whoopie sling is only adjustable down to 18 inches. An SRS is adjustable down to 6" thus leaving a difference when both sides are considered of two feet, not one and a half, so the whole computer model is therefore wrong.
Not to burst your bubble, but you can gain a couple of inches by double wrapping the whoopie to the hammock as the good Professor explains at ~2.00 minutes in the video. Even without this technique, the amsteel whoopie slings I use have a minimum distance of ~12".
You may be using whoopie slings with longer buries than needed or a gap between the eye bury and the constrictor bury.
I love indisputable science, but,
...where does that leave me?...are you going to go through all the suspensions to compare?....am I better off with my WBBB webbing or not?...
Man that was hard to watch you destroy the Dutch biner....
How much force do you estimate you were exerting when you lept onto the hammocks, I was impressed with the durability of the 2.2 string, can a 220# hang comfortably and safely on 2.2?
sooo many questions...

Whoopie Slings were purchased at AHE, measured 18" from loop to adjustable loop adjusted to same size as fixed loop. I did overlook the fact that he said you could loop the gathered end a few times, but I use a channel end.
After further thought I'm going to fold on this one. Risk versus benefit analysis does not justify it.
Thanks
Whoopie slings work better when my hand are cold. The SRS looks like more fiddle factor than my brain could take.
