    We were beached.

I don't require it in 2 feet of water, especially if you're 6 ft tall.
He is your friend, your companion, your defender... he is your dog. You are his life, his leader, and master. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of that devotion.

Just a reminder that while this is a fun family event meant for kids of all ages, there is also the opportunity for each of us to contribute to a general fund to the Lake Management group to add permanent fire rings to each campsite. Last year, this event added the first fire ring to Campsite #5. As Chickenwing has shared in a prior post, the Lake Management group has secured a grant to add picnic tables to each site and they should be out there before this event. I really believe that this Hammock Forum Hang has renewed the Lake Management's interest in improving the island for all campers.

Please make an effort this year to contribute what you can so that we can continue to show the Hammock Hangers are genuinely supportive to helping to improve the facilities for this little known gem known as Goat Island.

Eric has previously posted where you can send a donation to via PayPal or you can show your support when you get to the island. Eric (Chickenwing) will collect all donations. 100% of the donations collected will be forwarded to the Lake Management Group on behalf of the Hammock Forums members and participants of the 2013 Goat Island Hang.

My step-father has terminal cancer and is in the hospital. His time, while in God's hands, probably isn't many more weeks. We are just taking one day at a time. This being said, I am still planning to attend this hang. However, my plans may change last minute depending on the situation. :-(

Sorry to hear this JBD and certainly understand your circumstance. While we will/would enjoy your company on the island, these life events are rightfully to be "celebrated" with family. Just my personal outlook that I prefer celebrate one's life and the time spent with that person. Be grateful for the moments and remember... we all go "Home" at some point...

It looks like I will defintely be there with Mac and a couple friends, just a question on the pontoon boat for now. We will be servicing it this weekend and making sure everything is in good working order. If the pontoon boat is a go, then we can bring more stuff.
