Here is the address for the secure parking place.

Moon Landing RV Park & Marina‎

    4105 Watts Bridge Road
    Cross Hill, SC 29332-5049
    (864) 998-4292

The island is very near there.

As I recall, my GPS said I was at the address about 3 miles early.
    I had to call them.

Awesome. Thanks for the info and map.
I had found the landing but just could find anything on a map as to where the island was.
That doesn't look like too far of a paddle. I'll definitely need to look into doing a kayak camping trip there at some point. Looks like it may even be a good trip for beginners.

Since I started the new job, I am not sure if I can make this one. I am planning on it, but it is still up in the air. I will know more later.

It's not long now! I can't wait for this hang!!! It is looking like it will be a bigger and better Hang than the years before (if you can believe that). The sign up sheet looks to be filling up

Please make sure you are on the list AND you indicate how much shrimp you will need (figure 1/2 pound per person). Muskrat needs these numbers ASAP so he can order the shrimp (his treat). I plan on covering the smoked sausage (1/2 pound per person) so these numbers will help me figure the amount needed for that.

We also need people to sign up to bring the other items listed on the sheet.

also, I got this email from Greenwood Lake Management earlier this week
Good news! With our Lake Greenwood Blueway grant, we have purchased
and assembled three 8' picnic tables that we hope to have installed in
    the next week or two.
Hope you folks have a great time and great weather next month!
    Enjoyed reading your posts!

Just moved my name to the definitely attending column! Snaggletooth will be coming with me. She is super stoked!

Now to just hammer out the details of if I'll be bringing our own water transportation (kayak) or not.

    WOW !

The Sign Up Sheet is growing! I know of a few more potentials that have not yet signed in but it definitely looks like this one is going to be the biggest yet.

As we are moving closer to this hang, I just want to express to everyone that we do need some support with the Saturday evening meal. I wish I was in a position that I could afford to do it myself (but then again wouldn't we all love to be in that position???. . . ). The sign up sheet, right side of the spreadsheet, lists those items that would be beneficial for others to bring. If you see an item that has not been claimed by another and you can bring it with you, please sign your name next to the item and make sure that you verify the quantity in which you are bringing. If the total quantity requested has not been met, we are looking for others to help contribute to that item(s).

We would also like to know how many of you are planning to cook a desert on Saturday night. I know Swampfox is in with possibly 2 DO deserts, BugBait is plotting a move for the title but she is very leery of the Swampfox after having tried one of his deserts a few years ago, and Buggs has mentioned that he just make take a stab at it as well. Do we have any others that deem themselves worthy of such a title There are several of us that are hoping for a few more...

Speaking of the Swampfox, currently he is the only "shuttler" (not going to belittle you Swampfox as others might... )to the island that I am aware of that will be making trips to and from the island to the marina (parking area). For those the will need this shuttle, please be kind enough to assist with his costs for fuel. I would also ask that you post your intended time of arrival to the marina so that we can keep an agenda of when people are planning to arrive. We do have cell service on the island and those of us with smart phones can access Hammock Forums to receive messages that are posted in this thread in the event that last minute events occur that may delay your arrival or cancel your trip all together. Just post a brief message letting us know your status and we will get it. I would also ask that you keep in mind Swampfox's Sunday schedule. I know he enjoys his weekends to the fullest extent possible but he also has a few hours of a drive to get home. Let's make a conscious effort to be convenient with our departure times on Sunday. Maybe it might be helpful if Swampfox could provide a "Departure Window" so that those that need a ride back to the marina will know when to be ready to go.

As we get closer I'm sure there will be several other finer details posted. I'm looking forward to meeting several hangers that are on this forum that I have yet to meet as well as all newcomers. For those that I have crossed paths with in the past, I look forward to catching up with you again.

18 more days and 1 wake up to go. . .

    South Carolina>Goat Island, Lake Greenwood, Greenwood, SC>May 16-19, 2013

I plan to arrive at the island around 12 - 1:00 Friday. I'll post or pm my cell number to those that need it.
I know a lot of folks like to get out early on the last day and get home. I've never been one of those folks. The last one of these I was at, I was there just hanging out on my own private island about two hours after everyone else had gone. It was pretty awesome.
I don't expect to leave until 2:00 or so.
