Other than a little extra weight and bulk, your 3/16" whoopie slings should be just fine. Enjoy!

DynaGlide and Amsteel Blue are both made of similar fiber.
7/64" Amsteel Blue is generally considered the lowest strength line for suspension use with a "generous" safety factor even with hangers over 200 lbs. It has an average breaking strength of 1600 lbs.
2mm DynaGlide is frequently used by lighter hangers (and/or weight weenies) willing to accept a lower safety factor and has a 1000 lbs tensile strength.
One isn't better than the other...just different specs, different risks.

Adventures With Snide Tripod
Thanks Albertan. I went into Boatcraft this morning and picked up 50' of 7/64 amsteel for 40 cents/foot. That's almost exactly what it would cost me if I bought it through dutchwaregear.com including the shipping.
It's handy to have a local dealer but I wonder if there's anybody cheaper in Edmonton? Otherwise I'll just order it from the states.
