Looks like you've got a good handle on things. Arrowhead sells whoopies and adjustable ridgelines for a fair price if you wanna save the time/struggle of making them, but sometimes that's the fun of it but seriously the 7/64 is rated to like 1400lbs, no need for the 1/8. Tech line works well for ridgelines too but can be hard to splice. It holds knots well though. But a friend of mine had his tech line ridgeline snap like an over-tightened guitar string when he hung in a 20+ft span.

Is 15 linear feet a good estimate to make 1 roughly 6' whoopie sling?

I get 40' when I setup a hammock. Around 13' per 6' whoopie, about 12' for adjustable ridgeline (can't remember exact dimensions for RL), and usually have a couple feet left over for a soft shackle.

Plan on using Zing It/Lash It for SRL on the latest tablecloth hammocks I'm putting together, might get some Dynaglide for whoopies on these as well

Morning Gothmog, I thing you shock cord could be halved.
Also a comment on sleeping two in the hammock. On my large Diy (~7'x12'), I found the a 2-3" pull from the center of both ends gives the following benefits. It gives you a flatter lay and better back support. Second the ridge it creates, that supports my back, will also divide the hammock when two people are in it. My daughter climbed in with me a couple of weeks ago. I moved to the side to make room for her and the ridge came up when I was off of it. The ridge separated us so we weren't both in the bottom. She had her head at one end mine at the other. With the hammock 12' long it was still comfy. It felt like we were in two hammocks next to each other rather than being in one.

Mornin Gary. I'm not sure I know what you mean by a 2-3" pull from center. Diagonal lay, or off to one side? The shock cord too, I was using fronkey's list for that, just doubled. I thought it seemed excessive too. Anyway, I'm doing 2 fronkey style units, and using shock cord for bottom as well as the ends to cinch them up tight. Think half would be good?

Re-read your post yet again. You mean pulling 2-3" of fabric "tighter"at the middle through the larkshead?

+1 on the kids knitting needle. I can whip out a whoopie in no time.

I forgot, I'm also going to use shock cord for a pluq. Was thinking a few feet on each end to take to ends of hammock, and a few feet in the middle to run over the ridge line.
