I'm thinking about a DIY tarp and maybe Whoopie Slings as well.

Not sure about the rest of the year but in tge next two months I have material to make 3 hammocks with suspension, two tarps, one, maybe two packs and lots of stuff sacks. Ill also have to work out what to do with the spare material I've got. May fiddle with a sls as I have waaayyy to much amsteel floating around.

A versatile bugnet to be used in the hammock or on the ground.
    A new, redesigned lightweight pillow.
    A new tarp.
A Poncho Liner Underquilt modified a la a JRB quilt
    A new backpack

    Gosh, I'm gonna be busy.

One down...several to go. Put together the pillow yesterday. It's ugly but I think it'll work. Will test it out soon, if my January trip doesn't fall through.

Fleece with an air cushion (a child's swimming "water wing"). I can stuff a shirt/socks on top of the air cushion for extra padding. Came in at 2.6 ounces. Not bad. Cheers!

    Mines simple:

    1. Get out more.
    2. Learn more stuff (can never be overly educated)
    3. Convince my son to ditch his tent and take to trees with his dad
    4. Lightweight hammock sock
    5. Bug net
    6. Bishop bag.

And im currently working on updated suspension ( haven't quite made up my mind yet, so many choices)

I'd like to build my own hammock and tarp, and assorted skins/socks and stuff sacks.

The holy grail would be making my own pack to my exact specs... But that's likely improbable.

My DIY list just keeps getting longer every time I visit this forum...

Last year I made a couple of snakeskins for my sons' hammocks...now I'm planning to switch over to bishops bags with some kind of built in compression to reduce bulk.

Just finished some whoopie slings today...a pair each for my sons plus a spare set for emergencies or for attaching my gear hammock to.

Next on the agenda is a nylon mesh ridgeline organiser for phone, keys, knife, etc. Also hoping to make some kind of suspended 'stash bag' storage for the foot end of my hammock.

I'm also planning to treat myself to a larger tarp (4x4m) so will be tinkering with it to find new ways of pitching it and possibly even making some form of detachable doors so that myself & my sons can all sleep under the same tarp.

After recently making 3 'monkey boy' meths stoves I'm now looking at making some form of folding multi-fuel stove that will work for meths, fuel tabs & wood. I've made a couple of pot lids recently so have got a notion to do some more metalwork and see what I can come up with.

Psst...don't let my wife read this as she has a separate list of tasks for me to do, none of which are hammocking/outdoors related.

    ...oh, forgot the main one.

Planning to make an underquilt or 3 although still to decide on materials. Determined to extend the camping season and even get a couple of winter camps in so UQ's will be a must have.
