    4 nights out

Well after xmas was over and wed rolled around I went duck hunting
with my son and hurryed home to load the back pack up for the camping
    trip.

We went to a buddy of mines cabin and stayed there for 4 nights the
cabin is a primative cabin wood stove and wood cooking stove and oven
no running water or toilet but other than that it was a warm place
for the ground dewellers to sleep in and a place you could go to get
out of the wind and rain and the cold if you needed.

I slept outside of cource in my clark NA and after my last trip and showing my
hammock to others someone eles in the group bought there son one for
xmas so he had his there and one of the other son's used a string
hammock and my 9x9 guide gear tarp better known as a ( NEO ) tarp.

we got all hammocks set up right before it got dark the wind was blowing
about 20 and spitting rain so once hammocks were up we went into the
cabin and started dinner and everyone just sat around and did the
normal BS around the wood stove I played guitar for a couple of hours
and we had plenty of adult beverages to make my guitar playing sound
even better. When it was time to hit the rack I went out took my
bathroom with me inside the hammock and fell right to sleep with the
wind rocking me back and forth.

Next morning I woke up with no condinsation in the hammmock or
outside it and was ungodly hot I ended up sleeping out side my bag
for the biggest part of the night. The temps where staying around 24-
    26 degress out.

That after noon we must have shot 5000 round's of ammo thru what ever
gun some one brought and had a blast doing it no pun intended. We
even had a 8 foot tatter gun that hold compressed air and shoots
tater so far you cant see them but we went to the field and found
some that we had shot and used a range finder and it was 900 yards
not bad for a tatter gun

The next couple days/night were the same as above but one night we
had wind at 40 and bucket's of rain thru the whole 4 nights I stayed
    dry.

One of those nights I wanted a picture of my hammock up on the porch
of the cabin so I moved up there and spent the last night up on the
porch and told everyone if you cant hang with the big dogs you better
get off the porch needless to say no one listened.

any how I am going to upload a few pictures to my gallory if you
would like to look at them.

that's it in a nut shell

Good report - what were you using for bottom insulation?

Spent 3 nights camping @ BSA winter camp

Took my Scout troop to Wiggins ,Ms. for a winter camp. First night lows were 38 degrees and I was too hot . I had to rollup the mosquito net to cool off.I had my clothes in my NA pockets and other gear in my pack on the end of the hammock. The second night, It rained hard and stayed about the same temp. You should have seem all 10 of my scout trying to get under my tarp to keep dry. I stayed dry all night and was very comfortable. My son wanted to sleep in the hammock the next night when the temp. got down in the 20's .He zipped up the weather shield but said his feet were cold most of the night. All the scouts now want to hammock camp, so now I need to figure out how to raise the money for the troop to purchase them. Does Clark give BSA discounts ?

I would be interested in knowing if Clark does a Scout discount like Hennessy does also. I think Hennessy has a minimum order for that program not sure.
