Nice job gpig! I always see the grommet kits and think about grabbing one. I'll be sure to grab one next time.

Thank you everyone for the info. I went to Harbor Freight and they have a kit which has the tools to install and 50 grommets for 3.99. Stitched up a bag I made from my old footprint for my now unused tent and it worked like a charm. Now I'm looking for 49 more things to put holes in.
I hear you! I did the same thing and ended up making myself a pair of gaiters using some waterproof fabric (I used my instructions for a DIY double-sided stuff sack) and added grommets.

I can't believe I hadn't thought of grommets! I even had some laying around. I had just melted a hole in a stuff sack to make my bishop bag, but the hole has been growing lately... I just slapped a grommet on it and not only does it look way better, but it should stop the tear from spreading. Great idea, simple but the best ideas usually are!
(We need a 'cheers' smiley like some other forums have. I would raise a glass to this idea if I could.)
This is exactly why I check this forum multiple times daily. Love this easy solution. Will apply to both my ENO DN hammocks.
Thanks
