I've pretty much decided to retire the HH ULBP in favor of the WB BB. But I like the ocf + sb + undercover bottom side insulation for moderate cool nights and for packing light.
I'm guessing that without the undercover the ocf has minimal if any insulation value. Any air movement would rip away the trapped warm air. So it basically becomes a 5oz suspension system to position the sb. My thought is to enclose or at least attach a layer of silnylon, ripstop, momentum or Spinntex to the outward facing surface.
Anyone try this yet? If so, effective or not as a bottom side insulation? Given the 3D shape of the ocf this will be a cutting and sewing challenge. Something I don't want to do if this is a brain dead idea & wasting material. If so, I'll stick to packing the WS2.
