Looking for alternatives to slap strap pros...

Just because no one has explained it....ENO Slap Straps and ENO Slap Strap Pro's are made of nylon webbing and are well known for lots of stretching. The ENO Atlas Straps are made of "Polyfilament Webbing" (probably polyester) and don't have the stretching problem.

Nylon webbing stretches an undesirable amount...polyester and polypropylene have minimal stretch. Polyester webbing is most commonly recommended for tree straps and suspensions.

I also use ratchet straps, but I do not cut the hook off. Since I am not worried about weight I leave the hook on the straps and use the hook to secure the straps around the tree.

If it was me, however, I'd stay away from any straps made of nylon so you don't repeat your stretching problem. I ordered 13 ft of 1 inch POLYESTER straps from strapworks and then sewed on my own loops on the end. I'm very pleased with how they perform.

When I purchased my Slap Straps at Gander Mountain, They were the only type the store had available. Wish they had the atlas ones, I would have got those instead.
