We are heading to lost maples this weekend... It's one of my favs... We went to texoma two weeks ago... I have been to garner on day hikes its nice place for the family and car camping... I have a lot more places on my "to try" list in 2013...

I don't weight things I think its a pound or there about... Packs down cantaloupe size, not the smallest but that's what you pay with synthetic...

Don't forget the humidity were you're from. The weight may be less for the down at the start. But, if you are out for a few days, the down may start to absorb too much moisture.
    Good luck in you battle

Didn't think of that. Usually in warm humid weather I don't use anything but a sheet so in that respect I should be alright.

And so starts the down vs synthetic war!!! I didn't mean to start it... It is just in south Texas, most of the year I don't carry anything buy a twin cotton sheet or a silk wicking bag liner... So to me the cost of down is prohibitive for the use I'm going to get out of it... Not to say I don't want it, and ny top quilt is a down sleeping bag... I have no problems with either... Hang your own hang..

    No war.
If we get back on the OP's question, there won't be any synthetic or down fighting words involved.
    Trust nobody!

Agreed, Sgt Rock is way more experienced then me.

To the OP, I also use a yoga mat(I confiscated it from my wife). About the same as a WW blue mat.
