It was moved to the donating section of the forums because it was not a hammock related post. It's still there, but only donating members can see it.

To become a donating member, simply click the button on the forum home page and follow the instructions. Hope that helps!

That's odd...

I'm a donating member on another forum, and part of many others.

I've never seen that kind of system where the post creator looses the privilege to view his own post....

So, only hammock SPECIFIC topics are allowed in the regular forum?
Even though I use my ALICE for that topic.....

Your thread was moved to the donating member's section as it did not relate specifically to hammocks. The mods have decided that inorder to keep the focus of HammockForums.net on hammocks that all conversations not related are moved to the Donating Members section. This includes discussions of packs, knives, paddling, food, cook kits, bushcraft, clothing, and so much more. At a mere $10/year it is a bargain for the amount of information shared. I know for me I originally donated because the information provided in the open areas was worth more than $10 to me. I had no idea how much more there was to read and learn.

But, what I dont understand is that, when it got moved, I loose permission to view it.

It is because this is Hammock Forums and we are here to discuss hammocks for those who wish to discuss anything non-hammock related there is the donating members section and a multitude of other forums on the internet.

It is just the way this place is run.......happens to most of us when we are fairly new. Don't take it as a poke.
The $10 is well worth it if you like being on this Forum.
But they are just being truthful when they say all hammock info is free but the other stuff is sort of a VIP Room with all your Hammock-Buds.

It was in the Terms that you agreed to when joining, it's stickied in the announcements forum, and it comes up in threads regularly. We simply don't know how to make it more obvious.

It's not an issue though, and the thread was simply quietly moved.
