No trees but lots of corn

    Hello All,

Went on my first hang this summer in Raes Lakes CA. Was able to hang each night and it was AWESOME. Packed for years and soooo glad to get out of the tent and off the dirt; not as young anymore.

Hanging with EDO 2x nest, DIY whoopie slings (thanks Shug for keying all of us in) and 12ft straps. Came in handy when I needed to stretch between a tree and a rock to get off the ground.

Old Jansport down bag as quilt, blue foam under me and no tarp just millions of stars. Got a little wet during the 6 day trip but I lived (some sort of tarp as backup yet to come).

Will be lurking lots and talking little but hope to read more hanging victories of yours.

Howdy, PC! Mr. Pips (from Batavia IL) and I backpacked the Rae Lakes Loop years ago. What an amazing place! Wish we had known about hammocks back then! Welcome!!

Nice thinking with the rock and tree hang. I'd love to see pictures. I'm surprised you attempted 6 days with no tarp. Pretty risky
