Cooking up a Northern Dish that was popular during WW2 due to meat rationing. Filmed while Hammocking in Cornwall just before a storm came in.

I eat that to this day! My parents were English. I mash potatoes and then put in a can of corned beef and stir it around. Cheap and easy. Used to have steamed cabbage with it as well. My mom used to call it "Bubble and Squeek".
Gives me an idea about trying to dehydrate it for the trail.

Let us know how it turns out!

I'm used to making bubble and squeek with leftover ham or corned beef (after St. Pattys' day) but the idea of having it with a can of corned beef takes to seasonal limitations out of it.

If it works well for dehydrating it will add another dish to the 'dehydrated food repertoire' - the more choices the better!!

Loved the video! That really looked delicious!

The harmonica's a great "pack" instrument - stick with it!

I don't think TreeCamper shared that fry pan full of food with anybody - I think he ate the whole darn thing .

Dang, TreeCamper that looked good - and the harmonica sounded just right for the setting.

Thx for the compliments guys. Some people serve it with red cabbage too. Appreciate the praise for the harmonica guys I am only learning and have missed a few notes I think.

As someone once said :- I played all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order. LOL

I'm gonna have to write that recipe down, and use it for car camping...but first I'll try it at home...It looks too tasty not to.....I swear I should have been born British....but that is a different thread topic.
I miss my 4.8Lb base weight as a ground dweller...But I sure DON'T MISS the ground.
