    Hammock for my Grandparents

OK guys kinda a odd question. My father just bought a B&B in North GA where he watches my grandparents and hosts events and what not. This house is on 30 acres with one of the most amazing views of the north GA mountains I have seen in a while. So we want to hang a hammock for our guest but also for my Grandmother. She is 86 and walks around with no hip problems, but can be a little unstable at times. Is there a hammock/hammock style that is both enjoyable for anyone and would also work well for my Grandmother.. I know this is kind of an odd bur any help would be appreciated.

Obviously carrying / weight is not important, so I would opt for a 'brazilian' hammock. (Woven) Cotton. Two person so there is room enough to get comfy, strong enough to gain the confidence for your grandmother.

Something like this pic I got thru google jutsu

Also strong enough for the 'non hammock educated' guests of the B&B

Many other solutions are available of course.

    Good luck.

do you think it is stable enough for her to get in and out of.. Ballance is a little bit of an issue and won't be getting any better .

Will she be attended when she gets in and out? I'd be worried about her doing it on her own.

+1 on Brazilian or Mayan hammock, I've heard they are the most comfortable. Stay cooler on hot days as well. +1 on Grandma having some assistance to enter or exit the hammock. I would worry however about bringing the hammock in everytime for inclement weather. They shouldnt get rained on too much.

Grandma might also get cold easily. You may need some insulation underneath (and on top). North Ga. can get pretty chilly.

BTW & OT, I'm interested in the location of the B&B. Wife and I are always up for a trip to N. Ga.

I would recomend big sturdy brazilian hammock over mayan for this occasion because she could accidentaly catch and snag those fine threads with buttons, zipper or other things that could be poking out of pockets imho and those woven cotton brazilians are comfortable and stable.

For someone who might have balance issues getting into and out of a hammock (grandma), I would suggest a bottom entry hammock.

For the guests, definitely a larger multi person style hammock, because you know more than one person is going to try and get it at once.
