I am 502 and have not received mine or a shipping order. Guess I should email them. I'm not in a hurry. It is well worth the wait. Personally it is different for the cottage industries for me regarding the turn around. Big retailers I would be frustrated. I know the cottage folks are working hard to make really high quality American made products. Salutes!!!

I got my underquilt this evening. Things worked out just fine and the quilt is absolutely fantastic quality.

I will say that I got their highest over-stuff they offer in the 20deg incubator. The baffles feel a lot more dense and hard than anything else I have that is down. I am curious to see how it does saturday night.

My top insulation right now is a 0deg down bag. Combined with the underquilt I think this is going to be one toasty-roasty set up.

More later, gotta sleep some before I hit the road in the morning...

Here are some pictures from this weekend.

I don't know exactly what temp it got down to this weekend, I am thinking right around freezing because none of my nalgene bottles had ice in them in the morning (protected under the hammock in a pile of gear). It was very windy that night, though.

My top insulation was a 0deg down sleeping bag inside. I was quite warm. The only cold spot I had besides my face was my feet. After looking at the position of the underquilt in the morning it was apparent that I need to move it down about a foot or so to cover the foot pocket on the Warbonnet Blackbird hammock.

It was a great first hang for the underquilt. I can see my HG collection has just begun. I'm thinking a top quilt is in my near future. I may get a lighter/warmer weather set also - I can see the 20deg incubator I got with the overstuffing is going to be obnoxiously warm for anything above 40 or so.

I ordered my 0* Incubator January 2, and it's on the way!!!! I have a trip next Friday to the Allegheny Front, so glad I won't have to carry a couple pads!

I used a half-inflated Therm-A-Rest Trail Lite regular size pad before. I hated it - rolling off the pad was a pain in the butt. I did it for a while, but I had to come up with something else. The previous trip I went on I made an underquilt out of fleece. I have to say it was very very warm, but it was also well over 4lbs in weight. That's where the Incubator came to the rescue - and I am very glad I got it.

Now my hammock is even more comfortable, and I don't have to worry about a pad shifting over night.

    Wink

I'm 502 and got my shipping notice yesterday. Extreme excitement happening right now. It is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I may have to give that thing a test ride this weekend. If I do it will be a big test to see how the top quilt (my current order) and my 20 deg Phoenix works. Supposed to be in the teens or colder. (that is why testing it in the back yard is necessary.

I wouldn't worry, as you can see above, 502 just got delivered, so yours is right around the corner!

Dave, While HG eventually did me right and delivered a fine product, if I had to rate their communication, I would give them a definite failing grade. Every other area they pass with flying colors.

I think that I am finally to a point, where I will write down my experience.
