I believe the billboards at the LSHT trailheads also state not to camp under or near the trees with white paint bands. . .

I'll check on the burn ban with the Yahoo Group and get back. As far as carrying stuff, this is pretty much a BYO affair except for Spaceweaseal's sketti. Water filtration is also an individual thing. I'll be bringing my Sawyer, and maybe the Steripen, but the Katadyn is staying home.
Looks like we'll qall have sketti at least on night. Everybody should bring thier own stove, but I don't think anyone will mind if someone needs a hand. I can bring a UQ and a pack if its needed--I've got small, medium, and large---you'll need to judge how much volume you'll need. I can toss all of them in the truck.
And yah---the habitat thing is for real. The guy who posted it is in a position to know, so no camping in the nicely mown campsites with the white rings painted on the trees.
FWIW:
I'd recommend canister stoves for this thing unless you don't have one (I've got a couple on order, but they're coming from China so might not be here by then, otherwise I's promise one).
This is my plan...
1. I show up Friday and have a great time hanging with everyone.
2. Sat I wake up, (maybe with a hangover) and spend the day having a great time.
3. Sunday i have a great day with my new friends.
4. Monday come home.

Most of us are planning our food, fuel, clothing, etc. as if nobody else was going on this trip. That doesn't mean that folks can't or shouldn't make gracious offers of sketti and such, but since this is an A to B to C and back to A hike for some of us, we're going to be outfitted so as to be light and mobile----at least that's my goal for the weekend. The campsites are close enough to each other so that some of y'all can do modified car camping if you so desire, and this IS the place where those who want to do that can discuss that aspect of thier own hike. And since we've got at least one person showing up after dark on Satruday, we do have to have that campsite chosen in advance---just as we need to have one chosen for Friday since folks will be arriving at different times.
