My favorite is the Warbonnet adjustable webbing for it's simplicity.

For lighter weight, I like Dutch Whoopie Hooks with dynaglide whoopie slings.

Tried Whoppies and still went back the the WB stock. It may not be the lightest but it is so easy to adjust.

Tree straps marlinspike hitch. Spyderline using a buntline hitch knot.

This But I'm thinking about snaping into this instead of the looping over the MSH....because the MSH might slip off, I don't always recheck before jumping back in the hammock.

My favorite is the WB adjustable webbing with a Dutch clips instead of carabiners. Simple!!

I tried whoopee slings, but had problems since I keep my under quilt with my hammock in a bishop bag, and my "sleeping clothes" in the hammock when I pack it up. That added weight makes the adjustment of the whoopee slings hard for me.

Currently, it's whoopie slings with an MSH to 1" webbing straps, using a mini 'biner as the toggle.

Why?

Well, the mini 'biners attach my Camelbak holder to my Molly Mac Pack-inspired DIY pack while the tree straps double as the straps to hold my shelter system (hammock and first layer of insulation, all inside an over sized BB bag) to the pack. It reduces the amount of strapping I have to coil up at the end of the attaching straps (I used to use descenders and straps), provides a dual-use for my Camelbak attachers, and helps prevent the whoopie from falling off of the knot (I clip the whoopie into the 'biner's gate so that it is held down against the knot).

I'm currently loving whoopies and tree straps... But I forsee whoopie hooks and continuous loops in my future.

I use 3 feet of 1/2" Mule Tape for tree straps and dynaglide whoopies with Dutch whoopie hooks, though I am trying out Dynaglide UCRs with the same Dutch hooks. Ultralight and very adjustable. I'm not sure how much I like the UCRs yet, but that be because I need to try making the tail longer for the taught-line hitch so they don't slip.

I use them 1" webbed ratchet straps that you get at wally world. cut off the metal hook. I loop the strap around the tree feeding the working end through the loop. I use a cow hitch, or Lark's Head hitch around the mini biners that came on my ENO, and finish it off with a slip knot around the standing end of the strap.

I know the cow hitch is considered one of the least secure hitches but I've put over 350 pounds in my hammock and haven't had it slip yet.
