Started using the single ring shown by Griz. I know the rings add weight but the cordage doesn't double back and weight albeit very little is saved there. I've just found the ring method versatile.

    I haven't weighed either system.

I love my whoopies and the Dutch clips on my tree straps with the marlin spike hitch. Light and simple.

Was using whoopies for a bit, but now going back to full webbing. It weighs a bit more but I prefer the range of adjustability with webbing.

Harbor Freight 1" wide 12' long (same as Mad777 is refering to above) yellow straps with an Elephant Trunk and Dynaglide dogbone. I don't really like whoopies anymore.

Am I the only one who uses the trucker's hitch to make the loop to go around the MSH?

Mine is tree straps with dutch clips to whoopies using a marlin spike and toggles. Quick and easy to set up and much lighter than the standard webbing my hammock came with.
