    New winter underquilt

I built an underquilt today using MAD777's directions on the site. Mostly... I made 6 tubes instead of 8. I used some zingit to slide the underquilt up and down the hammock like I saw on one of Shug's videos.

I used down from a pillow that was claimed to be 600 loft and had to use about 10 oz of down. The total weight of this 3" thick underquilt is about 17 oz with the suspension.

I took a video of the way that I stuff down into tubes using a vacuum cleaner and a tube with bug net taped across the end.

Great video. I'd heard this method described a few times but never took the time to watch a video. Simple and easy. If I ever had to take loose down and get it into baffles, this would definitely be the method I'd choose.

Good video Risk! That's the process I use when dealing with bulk down. It's time consuming but doesn't make my house look like a bomb went off in a chicken coop!

Can't wait to see pictures of your quilt!
