I rarely have any issue with USPS...maybe I'm just lucky. The only time I've ever had anything go wrong with USPS is when the postal worker accidentally put in the wrong zipcode and it took a week or two for them to sort it out but the package arrived in great condition and the awesome USPS worker dealing with me on the phone was great at her CS job. USPS imo is one of the most under-rated, berated jobs ever- and i am thankful for them existing (forever how much longer that will be).

UPS and FedEx get things to me in a timely manner but i can say 40-50% of my packages are beat to heck and back for double the price.

I mailed out some hammocks today via USPS and I noticed a sign that said "Delivery Confirmation is now called USPS Tracking." I wonder if that means that packages will now be scanned and updated more frequently. That would be awesome.

they can call it what they want... i can show you my tracking number and you tell me what you think about their tracking system... still says expected delivery is the 27...

They are going to that. ATM they are only doing it in some markets but they did update all our scanners to be able to update from the road. They are also adding scan points all along the main routes. But until it is nation wide this is just a name change.

At least some Delivery Confirmation is indeed tracking

    Example: (read from bottom)

Processed at USPS Origin Sort Facility

    Acceptance

Furthermore, since the destination is near Dulles, I expect delivery to be one day earlier. Not so shabby, a summer UQ delivered coast to coast in 3 days for under $4.

Just found out more about this. They are adding a small cell phone unit that connects wirelessly to the scanners. When these roll out nationally they will update at every scan.

up here in canada, canada post is expensive as hell, but they make money every year and and parcel you send as a automatic insurance value of 100.00 if you need more you then purchase more. Funny thing is i try to never buy from south of the border for one reason i have seen to many venders just gouge on shipping charges then double or tripple the value of the item. then when it gets to canada we get charged taxes and duty on the declared value, it sucks. Same reason i will never order from a cottage vender not after i looked and 1 wanted 30.00 to ship whoopie slings, i just made my own

...ZQ here...Not this cottage vendor...we charge exact shipping costs and our accessories ship via USPS First Class to Canada, and overseas. And we never exceed the value of the item on the customs form.
