First camp of the year *PIC HEAVY*

Julia, Rain, Kevin, Becky, and myself decided to step out for an over-nighter this week. All but one have never camped in temps lower than the mid-high 30's, so this trip was fun. I've never seen my water and gear freeze. Although nothing in comparison to you maniacs in neighboring states, this is COLD for the SoCal folks.

We had varying direction wind changes with 15-20mph gusts that died down around 12am. Temp got down to a low of 23* not including windchill.

So enough talking from me, here are a few photos.

My Setup: Warbonnet BlackBird; Warbonnet Superfly; Hammockgear Incubator 20*; Hammock Gear Burrow 20*

I've always wanted to spell my name in the snow: This trip let me check it off my list.

When I woke up, I was surprised to see my water had slighly frozen over.

    The group

    Coffee

    Tea Bags anyone?

Rain's super meal; Bacon, 2 types of sausages, rice, potato

    Action shot

    The way out

    Kevin

    Becky

Rain: Enjoying the breaking, taking a breather, and humming

    Julia

    Back at my truck

Another first: windshield wiper fluid freezing shortly after contact to my windshield.

Also wonder if it's DIY. Looks like a Sami "kåsa" (that's the Swedish word, I think it's different in Sami):

Looks like you all had a lot of fun, the photos are amazing! Those trees as you were walking out were quite large(Photo before Kevin's photo). Thanks for sharing your life adventure with us.
