For the demo, if anyone is interested, I can show the manual way of adding ridges to a Fosters pot and how to make a MBD Elite Stove knockoff.

Angus, you'll be there? Fantastic! Yes, I'm interested in that demo. Should I bring a Foster's can? (I can demo how to drink said beer.) I'm always looking to lighten my gear, and this is a great addition.

    Bluejay trip

I plan on bringing some DIY bridge hammocks and some other gear I use on backpacking trips, even though this is car camping. I find it very helpful to see what others bring and how they pack it up, etc.

I can only make Saturday night, but if anyone likes to hike, I am thinking seriously about hiking to Sitton Peak. The trailhead is down the Ortega Hwy toward San Juan Capistrano, about 5 minutes by car. You will need an Adventure Pass to park in the lot across the street from the candy store. The hike is ~10 miles roundtrip and takes me about 4 hours, with a nice break at the peak. It is not very difficult EXCEPT for the final 1/4 mile to the peak. It is very steep at that point. But it offers one of the best views of Orange County and beyond.

Just throwing it out there in case anyone else is interested.

Yep, confirmed and not flaking My son and daughter may be coming along with me. I'll be bringing some empty Fosters to demo and give away along with a couple elite stove knockoffs.

If the kids are with me, I may not be able join in on the day hike. I will be bringing my backpacking gear (hammock setup and tents) also.

    Great!

Cool! I look forward to seeing you there. Lots of places to hike around there. Los Pinos peak (4th highest in the Santa Ana Mountains, which is not very high, is very close by--not too difficult from the Main Divide Road; very doable for the kids). I'm up for whatever; I just want to stretch my legs.

Wow.... I fell like I'm in a time warp and pretty stupid. So WillieCash and I and a couple friends were suppose to go up there (Blue jays) on FEB 16th, which of course they did. I had to miss it because of Car issues. So I thought that was this Hang and missed out!!! I'm seriously ecstatic that I didn't miss this!! But feel really dumb that I thought I missed it, and mixed up March and February. Now I have something to look forward to again.!!

    Sounds great, Mangus!

Chetter: Glad to be the bearer of good news for a change. I might need to talk you into coming down to get me on Saturday morning if you go up on Friday. Should be about 25 minutes each way if that is OK.
