I have been wanting a dual purpose puffer jacket/ UQ since seeing this thread a year ago: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=27838

I hope my JCP has some.
I would like to leave the sleeves on to keep it dual purpose and to cut down on the sewing and ripping.

Does anyone have the weight with and without sleeves (I know there are different sizes, but it should give us an idea.)

Also does anyone have a length from shoulder to waist. (again I know there are different sizes). I am just wondering how many jackets for a 1/2, 3/4 and full.

    Thanks

I just finished a PLUQ Yeti clone earlier today. Was able to score a couple of the Puffer jackets and now it looks like I will be able to Jazz up my latest creation with a down inner layer. Thanks for posting this! Hobby time just got extended...

Scored 2 for $10 each! Weight is very reasonable. Can't wait to use these

bought four last night at the Hendersonville NC store. $20 a piece, but still worth it I think.

Strange. One rack had the coats for 14 and another had em for 20. This was in the same store. Maybe 2x 3x 4x are not popular sizes.....except for hangers

According to our store the 20 dollar ones are women's and the 14 are men's.

I just bought 2 online $30 each in Columbus Red XXL I've been waiting on my new thread injector so I can make my UQ inspired by this thread. Thanks to all that have contributed to this thread!

Very interested in this idea. I have read where people criticize this type of project due to the jackets being "sewn through" construction. What do you think of two layers being sewn together with the baffles slightly offset?

These are so comfortable as jackets, no one will take them off long enough for me to cut them up I'm heading back to buy them in reasonable sizes for the whole family to wear.

I was considering a double layer as you suggested. However, I would not sew them together so I still had the option to use one for warmer weather. I was thinking velcro or maybe even buttons around the outside.
