Just finished removing the sleeves from one of mine and didn't have any issues with escaped down. There's a thin strip of nylon grosgrain that you have to pick the stitches out - that's rather tedious. Then there is another set of stitches after that but they're much easier to undo. The edges of the sleeves and the shoulder have another line of stitches that kept the down contained.

I have a couple them in 3XL tall but just have not found the time to work on them..
Looks like I found my first DIY project! I called my local JCP and they have some JCP brand 90% goose down-filled jackets for $20/ea. Is that the same thing you guys are using? If so, I'll be going to pick up few tonight.

Anyone consider redistributing the down from unused pieces? Whats the best method I wonder. Thought about vacuum with panty hose to get it out......then weigh it but what about adding it to chambers that already have down in them?
Just got 7 at Dulles Mall in NoVa. Plan to make 3 and keep the 7th as a backup jacket (go figure)
What are people using to make channels?
