I MADE A PAIR OF DOWN SLIPPERS! First thing I've made with the thread injector that's an actual thing---and there's TWO of them!

Took the sleeves off, sewed them together on panel below the lowest pint at the shoulder inseam, did two lines of stitching and cut between the rows.

They'll probably hemorrhage down for the next five years.

But I made a thing! And I can use it!

Thanks fror the idea and the infor guys---I'm diving into the UQ thing now.

But I'm doing it with warm tootsies.

Got two of these so far but they had several more. I was thinking of adding a zipper to the bottom of two coats and inverting the sleeves to make these dual use.

The edges of the sleeves and the shoulder have another line of stitches that kept the down contained.
I just took the first sleeve off of six coats. ( making 3 UQs). After removing tHe thin strip, then Take out the seam holding the sleeve on. Unfortunately there was not another exam sealing the panel. Down stared coming out. Now I gotta reevaluate my plans. Suggestions?

    As far as booties:

I am noticing that when the sleeves are off my foot fits in the hole left on the vest.

I am thinking of cutting out a sole shaped piece and then stitch up the top to enclose the foot....the spot of the vest where your shoulder would be had a natural curve that seems like it will go up your shin and around your leg.

    Thoughts?

I used tape to close the seams till I sewed them. Yep 2 of the six didn't have the second row of stitching. Had down puffing out.

    Great thread!
My wife had to drive someone to the Buffalo airport, so I had her hunt for some of the jackets and she brought back 3 (No JCP up in Canada).

I think that since the jackets are so widely available, and so many people are working on the same thing, that the UQ (or TQ, whatever) deserves a proper name.

Any road followed precisely to its end leads precisely nowhere. Climb the mountain just a little bit to test that it's a mountain. From the top of the mountain, you cannot see the mountain.

When I removed the sleeves I just ran a quick seem around the edge to secure the down. Didn't take long with the machine.
