Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you want the fabric breathable.

This happened to me too. Luckily I found them at a different store.

This is an interesting question for me because I use a Chrysalis tent hammock with no tarp. So the underside of the UQ would be completely exposed to the rain...
Somebody told me how frightening it was how much topsoil we are losing each year, but I told that story around the campfire and nobody got scared.

Ha! Happens. Just glad I went to the nearest one instead of the store 45 minutes away.

Calling JCP now to see if they will ship to my local store.

UPDATE: Called JCP toll-free and they said they can't ship for in-store $14 price. BUT if I go in store and they order, they can "force" the price, the store doesn't have to have the jacket in stock, they just need the product number: 5819252. I'm going at lunch time.

Ordering (3) 3XLT jackets in the hopes of making a full length underquilt for my Chrysalis hammock--I'm 6'1". Tempted to order more for top quilt, but sight unseen, not really comfortable.

How about treating only one side? Would this cause issues with condensation?

My concern would be that the treatment would get on the down and negatively impact its lofting capabilities.

Unscientific opinion....yes putting a DWR spray on these would be a good idea. Everything could still breathe, but shed water spray...

Edit: Some DWR applications require washing the material with the solution, it's then that I would be worried about the chemicals getting to the down.
