Does Momentum wick moisture? Does it dry relatively quickly like light weight nylon? It may provide enough moisture protection against light moisture that your tarp failed to provide. P2i treated Momentum. Highly water resistant, no weight gain, no loss in breathable and unfortunately just a dream fabric.
The JRB WeatherShield 2 is designed with a DWR center panel and silnylon side panels. Have had no condensation issues with it. Blocks the wind and mosquitoes. With adequate tarp coverage and proper pitch for the conditions rain moisture is a non issue.
