Is not much of the adjustability coming from the whoopies once the ET is locked into place?

Yes, but that's only if you're using whoopies. Up until the last 3 or 4 times I've hung I've always been a strap guy. And lets say you're a whoopie user and you just need to move the ET 6" cuz of a large diameter tree, it would be faster/easier to do it with a modded ET.

I use dogbones with my ET's and I use Harbor Freight straps. I don't find it that hard to adjust, but I may try this out. I have a couple ET's in my gear box that are not on straps yet. Thanks for the idea Red.

If I had to guess I'd say I'll probably leave them right on the strap as tho' I were about to hang from them for two reasons:
1. I'm lazy
2. I'll know right where to find them.
I keep my straps in a separate stuff sack, so if I just unhook the hammock from the ET I think they'll stay put long enough for me to get them in the sack especially after being under a load....time will tell.
Good luck,

I just meant to use the knot or sewn doubling to keep the ET from sliding off the end and falling into the mud just when you don't want to lose it. ;-)

Great improvement in the use of et's. Adjustments just became easier. I am sure you or someone will find a good way to prevent easy loss. We are all in pursuit of the perfect hang and we will get there together.
