You can also use old tooth brush handles, just cut off the Bristles(Head) drill a small hole for your cordage and you can probably get 2 decent pieces from one tooth brush, they also come in assorted colors.

I am using cut down large gauge knitting needles. The options are pretty wide if you like the splash of color, and a pair of the big ones can make 3-4 sets of toggles for about $2.50. I'm glad I kept the end caps now, because stuffing them with emergency kindling or fishing kit is a grand idea!

I use a carabiner. I loop the whoopie back up through it so it can't slip off... They are the cheapo $1 carabiners from Walmart rated at 150 lbs...

Buy a crossbow arrow from walmart for $4 and cut it with a hacksaw in to 6 toggles that weigh less that air. Bais sells super nice one cheap as well.

Wow, those are very nice. I have a piece of maple burl left over from making a kuksa, I might have to use that and make a set. Thanks for sharing.

Whatever you get, I suggest something not camo, I like the look but if you drop it in a pile of leaves you may not find it again...

I have cf ones that I chopped of an old (already broken) fishing rod that I had lying around. Used them a few times now and they're holding up well, with a little cord through the holes they weigh 3 grams for the pair
