Hello from Iowa! Keep Hangin'
Well I suppose that I just haven't had the time to duck hunt in a few years. Lake is big enough now to shoulder a shotgun. I anticipate getting him behind the decoys next year. I will say that I am not as mad at the ducks as I used to be.
Thanks for all the hearty welcomes.
This weekend we camped at Beavers Bend in Oklahoma. No I did not sleep on the ground. I found a nice couple of trees down near the water. Saturday morning it was 27 degrees. I got a little cold on my lower legs. The air pad I had under me was only a 3/4 pad. Saturday night I tried adding a space blanket between the air pad and the hammock. Then added my Weather layer jacket under my sleeping bag on my lower legs. That worked great. I'm really wanting to try using a top and bottom quilt but have not settled on a model or make. We did a good portion of the Sky Line Trail on Saturday and cooked our lunch up on the trail overlook.
Sounds like a fun trip. We camped at a small spot outside newton ks. Around 4,000 scouts. Event held every year called trappers. Hope you enjoyed your hang
