Sure looks great, thanks for those beautiful pics.

That silicone lid... I would probably always be worried to damage it with a wood fire....but it seems to hold up good.

Glad you liked them. When I look thru all my hanging picts I seem to select spots with a view vs the protection of the trees.
Testing mother nature like that will bite me one day.

Yeah its pretty tough out here but somebodies got to do it.
The CC, with a Trangia stove on simmer warmed that poptart to just right.
The blueberrys were bubbling out the vent holes.

Wishing some snow your way, don't forget your camera. Cubed colbyjack really boosts the flavor of the MH. The meat is still a bit rubbery, haha

    Your welcome.
I never use the orange lid on an open fire.
Except as a pot holder to pour.

When you get to be my age you are up checking the weather 4-5 times a night.
Having the camera in a pocket makes photos like that possible.
Thanks to my black tarp and black hammock cover I slept in to about 10AM.
No reason to get up too early in the winter, it's just to dam cold.

Shameless plug for the Colorado Winter Hang Feb 1,2,3
    Planning thread;
    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=63539

This trip was a scouting trip to check snow conditions and campground access.
If you'd like to hang in this area please consider joining us.
We have a ton of fun on these group hangs. Lots of different winter gear to checkout
and the scenery can't be beat.

The current plan is to camp in the Kenosha Pass East campground Friday night kind of a gathering time then around noon
Sat pulk or backpack 1 1/4 miles up to the overlook (where I camped) for a backcountry hang Sat night.
Sat noonish we will be doing a day hike/snowshoe/trail lunch to checkout Mt Guyot. pict below...

If you've got some decent winter gear please consider joining us, we'd love to have you.
