Can someone tell me how the UQ should compare to the TQ when it comes to fill weight/warmth? Should the UQ be the heaviest/warmest item or should they be about equal?
Thanks.

I try and keep mine about equal except in the hot humid summertime. I use a 50 degree jarbridge vented quite a bit, and maybe nothing if its above 80 at nite. I also sometimes might use a sheet, or a poncho liner and also have a 50 degree top quilt. But in the heat, using little battery operated fans, and maybe a sheet, still hot as all get out in the hot dead summer time. I also have a couple of times, attached a poncho liner for a UQ in the dead of summer as its fairly lightweight, you still have to vent it tho.

I'm definitely new to all this, but the quilts I have been looking at have been within an ounce or two of each other when comparing TQ and UQ of the same temp rating.
I generally get ones at the same temp rating. If you're looking to get one warmer, the UQ is usually it. Staying warm underneath and on the sides can make a big difference in comfort. And it's hard to go too hot and easy to vent if you do.
