I don't get into outfitters' stores very often, but when I do I ask about hammocks. I have yet to meet a salesperson who knew anything about the Enos and Hennessys they had for sale, much less other options. It's well to realize that these sales people didn't make the decision to sell hammocks where they work, so the best thing is to kindly point the way to HF (and don't be surprised that they are not immediately grateful).
a 10 X 10 room would be 14.14 foot corner to corner (diagonally)..imho pleanty of length for a normal sized hammock!

the structural ridge line on my 11' is 108" that would leave enough room for a short, fixed length suspension.
height of the attachment points would be critical to a comfortable lay because the suspension is short and fixed.
The size of th room you are physically capable to hang in would be no larger than the smallest tarp you can affix your hammock under. I can hang a 5x7 tarp over my hammock. Anyways, if you are hanging from the walls, you can do it, if you want a stand, good luck.

if you attach a chain from floor to celing, that will allow you to hang in as short a space as possible, works pretty well and you don't have to worry about placing the eyebolts in a wall (floor and celing joists are much stronger), or worry about getting the placement exactly right. the chain links are a nice way to make micro adjustments up and down

Try it. It either fits or it doesn't.
i did this is a 10 by 10 room. using my whoopies, i was able to get a comfortable lay, i used the hammock calculator and placed my hooks about chest high, worked out great for me.
