What is shortest Distance between trees you have hung your RR from???

Normally for all my testing, I have been anchoring at 19' 3" inside and sleeping in my RR. At this distance, the lay is super nice and flat. Today, I went outside, using my whoopies and Nano 23 Beiner to attach to 3' tree slings, the shortest distance I could possibly anchor from is 15'. I also found out that because of the short distance of anchoring the hammock, the lay wasn't as flat. Also, because I have my hiking poles set without the 4 inch extension measurements (hiking poles set at 35.5 long) extending them to 37.5 increased a much better lay. I am thinking of switching my suspension back to SRS with Ring as that would enable me to hang from even closer "trees" than 15', maybe even at 13.5 ft. Now remember,,,my suspension triangles have been shortened from 42.5 to 37.5 and RL measured without me in hammock is 12' 2" long. With me in the hammock the RL measured 11' 7.5". Perfect for total coverage under my 12' long cuben tarps of HG.

What is the shortest distance any of ya's have hung your RR from? Just curious if anybody has been measuring how close their trees (or anchor points) have been for their hang and enjoyment of the RR.

Mines right at 14 ft I believe. I have learned to pace off the trees when hanging the RR because it's just plain hard to get it right and a seemingly nice pair of trees turns out not to work an unbelievable number of times.

14.5 - 15 feet on a TurtleLady stands. Worked well enough and was plenty comfy for me.

    Whoopies or SRS suspension?

Just measured my indoor setup and with everything stock it 13ft 9 inches for a comfortable lay.

Can't beat the lay no matter what distance we hang at in the RR. Love it. I just want to see how close I can get with the trees and how short the distance can or is that has been used.

    73 ft.

Well, maybe wasn't quite that long, but it was something record long compared to anything else I have used.

With stock length triangles, cinch buckle/strap suspension and stock spreader bars with the 4" piece, I'm using ~15'-6" on a TL stand. That leaves about 12" of strap on the head end that is needed to have the head end lower than the foot end. You could give it a bit more sag and gain a few inches, but I like it flat.

Hanging from trees would require a few more inches due to the way tree straps "V" away from the trees.

Not a ridge runner, but similar.

10'1" this afternoon. By my calculations, I can achieve 8'0" if I need to. The ridge line is about 7'11" in length. This is without the tarp. If I put the tarp up, I need a full 11'0" unless I wrap part of the tarp with the tarp suspension line.

It does require attaching a dutch hook to the constricting part of the UCR in the way I did it this afternoon.
