The uq and hat were my first projects also- just got my 54 y/o thread injector last week. I have 2 different brands of the down booties already so I haven't given it much thought. It should be fairly simple to make down socks with a couple of cuts, stitches, elastic or velcro.

Did you size it exactly to your head or is there any elastic in there?

    On my list

I've got 4 3XLT jackets, so I see a couple of hats in my future.

I used 3 baffles of one sleeve and added another section (big head) to make it big enough to fit me. I also sacrificed a fleece baklava that I bought on clearance at wally world for a buck to make the head band. The loose down will have to be removed from the fleece with a lint roller but that's no big deal. I may go back and tweak it and add some stiches to make it look better but it's light, warm and is another use of the sleeves
Curious to how you stitch the baklava with the down, as the baklava are constrictive to a certain extent. Did you stretch the baklava/headband while you sewed it, so it doesn't pull to tight on the sleeve when you put it on?

    Thanks,

How about a pair of Down Booties Made from Left over material in the sleeve.
This is a mock up of one of the sleeves.

What would be the most suitable prize for the winner? Another jacket?
