Looks like you guys had as much fun as we did! I don't quite have the insulation for much below about 0, but I'm working on it. Someday I'll graduate from Mt Rogers, although had we been that cold, I seriously think (Paradoxically?) we wouldn't have had the Hypothermia issues 4 of us did by getting WET!!*.
I too once had the issue of 1 too many pairs of socks getting my feet cold. I learn something new each trip, even from videos of trips I've not been on, so thank you for posting a great (as usual) pair of videos!

For those thinking that we winter hangers are CRAZY beyond belief, you are probably right. But with a bit of the 3 P's: Planning, Preparation & Practice. You too can be CRAZY like us!

*At Mt Rogers I had 1 Quarter sized spot on me that was dry, due to bad preparation. Hey, live & learn.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.

Quick question for you Shug-man, I can't remember where I heard it, but you changed your pulk rig to using shoulder straps instead of a waist belt. Any comments on pro's or con's of each and what you prefer?

Thanks again for sharing your memories!!

So far I like it. Need to hit some steep trails in the backwoods to really test. Can't rotate the hips as well but it is easy enough to drop the straps and let them hang.

The wet cold is serious stuff. Been there. We were better off in dry crackin' cold. Glad all were safe for sure.
