    Hello from Tuscaloosa

    Hello all,
I'm Jason, from Tuscaloosa. I'm a new user to the forum and have recently discovered the world of hanging. I'm curious about places to hang nearby Tuscaloosa that don't charge too outrageous of fees. Looking forward to the spring and the fun times that will bring.

Welcome from Montgomery. I hung out at Tannehill state park this weekend, not far from you (video I the trip report section). $16 per night, not too terrible. Campground was great...some nice hiking and lots of cool history.

    Welcome from Hoover, AL

Oak Mountain is only a 50 minute drive from Tuscaloosa. If you like backpacking , Oak Mountain’s backcountry sites are very reasonable. Backpacking fees are $5.00 per person plus tax (14%) Let the Ranger at the gate know you will be camping and they will waive the entrance fee to the Park.

Welcome from Calera. I second the above, Tannehill, Oak Mountain, Bankhead NF/Sipsey Wilderness Area and you can also check out the Talladega NF in Bibb County. I'll be going to Sipsey this weekend.
    It's a hammock thing, you won't understand!

The wife no longer kicks me out of bed after she saw a hammock hanging in the dog house.
