update, well after sorting through my gear last night I have decided that I will be doing overnight trips on both dates of Feb 9,10 and Feb. 23,24, both trips will be on the "AT" in the Monroe/Southfields NY area.
    Sounds good.

I haven't looked at any maps of the area in a while. If possible, any interest in setting up for a car further up/down the trail and shuttling rather than an out & back?

sure, we could leave a car at a few different places (rather not post where we will leave the cars) but the weather may affect what we do, (this trip is a go except for a torrential downpour or a tornado). this area got a few inches of snow last night with more snow/rain and freezing temps expected throughout the week according to the local weather channel so a icy trail may make it interesting. depending upon the temperatures water may be a issue so be prepared to melt ice.
At this point, all planning on attending this trip should "PM" me so I can get a headcount and I'll work on the shuttling logistics.

I want to get on the AT this month. Will have to decide tomorrow.

    beechnut,
I have done that section of the AT, but this might make a good intro hike.
This week is moving by fast.
Next week would be better 3/9.

    GG,
Would you be interested in doing this section ?

Sat March2, I am doing a 12mile day hike with a NY hiking group.
Was on the waitlist, and a slot opened : this is a group of 19 possible hiking partners. Looking for 2-week-AT-section-hike partners.

    GG,
May still be possible to hike with you on March9, if that is still open.

    beechnut,
Therefore will not meetup on Sat, but we may cross paths on the Harriman section of the AT. Say hello if you see our big group.

My idea of a group size is 2 to 5, but this might bring good results.
