Coldest hang here in Wisconsin was the first week of January in 2010 when Milwaukee had wind chills of -35 for 3 days straight I was 200 miles north trying out my new HH with Super Shelter. The ambient temp was -22 with 30+ mph gusts the first night. I figure the wind chill was around -40. This was using the asym fly (never do this) and I still to this day have no quilts just good ol' layering and a touch of crazy. With better gear and over 200 nights in the hammock since then, I have found better ways to stay warm and comfortable. Oh and the thermometer I used quits around -12. I was hanging about 1,000 feet behind a friends house for safety measures and his weather station recorded the -22 that night and the wind speed.

My personal low was last year at the winter hang. It got down to 8 degrees if I remember right. The fun part was that was my first winter camping I had ever done.

Just to clarify that kwpapke and I were not setting out to set a record but were more interested in the challenge and to see if we could do it in our hammocks. We had both been watching those predicted temps and went.
It was fun and painful all in one.
I compete with myself more than with others.
Got my sights on going colder though as my gear and knowledge has improved. But I will be vigilant. I do it because I enjoy it and live in Minnesota))))
