Looks like it'll be relatively clear and cold; low of 16 on Saturday evening; only a high of 32 Saturday.
Time to double up my quilts
Campalot; you're definitely starting on a high note!

Okay I am truly ready now I just did a test run in the backyard and slipped and fell in the mud. I actually had to laugh at myself. I just know I will be doing the same thing this weekend
I am actually hoping for more cold weather. It might help freeze the ground a little.
We only saw a light dusting of snow here in St. Louis so it just aided in making the ground that much more soggy.
I am defiantly bringing a change of shoes for camp and the car ride home.
Wow, first night out in the Missouri arctic. Can I bring a heater to put under my hammock? Lol ! Cold butt syndrome nothing, what about frozen butt syndrome. I'll be fine, going to bring extra pad and fleece blanket just in case. Looking forward to meeting everyone and having some good time around the fire and gaining some much needed knowledge from the group. I know there's lots to learn for a newby. Made my first alcohol stove tonight so going to bring it to try out this weekend.

I love making those stoves and test burning them. Something about how simple yet efficient they are that I just like. I've made a few but only one has really turned out really well so I use that one and another that a forum member made for me.
My goal/target is to boil 2 cups of very cold water using .5 oz of fuel in a short period of time "in the field". My WD40 stove and my "Elite" knockoff both come very very close and will do so in the summer months but in winter it usually takes a bit over .5 oz.
Can't wait to see your stove campalot!
And as far as stoves go, Digitizer should actually be in counseling for his stove addiction

Gideon, does my wife telling me that I spend too much time on building stoves count as counseling?
Campalot I would agree with Gideon they can be a lot of fun to mess with just don't let them get the upper hand or you will have a hundred alcohol stoves in your basement before you know it.
Campalot im getting ready to head out,you posted that you had a tarp set up ,so im leaving my second tarp at home .Post up if you still need it ,if i dont hear from you i will assume you have it covered,(all pun intended).
Hairbear are you heading out as in head out to camp tonight? I don't want to leave you in the parking lot again hanging by the cars
I am thinking I will be leaving the house around noon today and should be at trail by 2:00-3:00 (may stop for lunch in Troy) I am planning on heading in to try and find the site and may setup if time permits. Then I will head back to the trail head and look for Campalot and anyone else coming down tonight.
Looking forward to seeing everyone and drive safe it started snowing again in St. Louis.
Digitizer I will try to catch you at trailhead and hike in with you but don't wait
around for me. I will follow your trail in to camp.
