Shock cord only on tie-outs?

I would think that with a long length of shock cord only, if the stake comes out of the ground, it would launched pretty good. I have had mine pull loose, but with the zing-it on the stake and the short shock cord at the tarp, it seems to not launch too far/hard.....RR

Never had one launch or come out but it could be our soil in this area also we do not pull it so tight just nice & snug.
I can see your point though if it was overly stressed/stretched or poor holding soil for your stakes.
