Is the overcover and netting able to be removed from the hammock? If im winter backpacking there really is no need for the net, and in the summer i wont need an overcover. Can one be left at home?

I own 2 DBs and I can confirm that they are not removable. YOu might be able to work something our with Papa Smurf though
I already own your solution.
Dangerbird when you need a hard top or soft top as I now call them... WL Lite Owl when you want to go topless. It's a win win all the way around.

There's been discussion about this in other threads. PapaSmurf has toyed with the ideas and while challenging, I recall it being possible. He just needs someone to place a custom order to give it a try...

Correct. The net and overcover are not removable.
I do have a removable design figured out, but haven't built it yet. The costs for the zippers would be fairly expensive.
How much do you think they would add to the cost Papa Smurf?
Wow. I think I may have to stick with the original. That is when I can get the boss to let me spend money on another hammock that is. I'm still looking forward to the day I can place that order.
