I'm just going to jump in and ask. Where do you store your backpacking gear when you are hammock camping Don't worry about the bear bag, that is in a tree somewhere a ways away. The options that I've gleaned so far are.
1. Hung on the suspension at one end of your hammock.
2. Wrapped up in a garbage bag under your hammock.
3. In a shug video he just had it hanging from it's own webbing on one of the trees he was hanging from.
4. Just under their hammock.
5. In it's own little hammock. Hanging just under you or does it have it's own little tarp too?
At this point it hopefully doesn't weigh a whole lot (food up a tree, sleeping gear all set out) mostly some clothes, fishing gear if your into it, rain gear, a jacket or two. Could you hang your backpack on your ridgeline or would it weigh too much and interfere with the way you lay, or would it be bulky and take up too much room. What if you stuffed a bunch of your gear in peak bags first? (not that I really wan't to repack my whole backpack every day) Anyway The ridgeline thing, thought I could make a little sling (yes like a mini hammock) for the backpack and shove it down by my feet. (a hammock within a hammock, been watching too much inception). Is is plausible? Does anyone do it?
