    My thought exactly. Also,

I can't be sure, but it looks like you're hanging on the toggle, not the knot. Depending on what your toggle is made from, this can be a recipe for rapid failure. So, for both those reasons, be careful my friend.

It is a creative idea though. Thanks for sharing and happy hanging!!

Re: TRIANGLE SUSPENSION...a noobs flavor of suspension.

I have actually made a couple mods since my original post.

I stopped double lining dynaglide and I am just using a single strand of 7/64 amsteal now.

Although the picture looks like i am on the toggle...I am on the knot

Anyone going to try their own flavor of a triangle suspension?

    Triangle version 2.0

I hope the pics come through...im using an app from my phone.

So here is version 2.0. I went back to 7/64 Amsteel.

So I have a woopie hook spliced in on the head end (my first splice)...and secured the splice with 10 lb braided dyneema fishing line. Before I had the cord attached directly to the hammock but it was a pain in the but if i ever wanted to disconnect it for whatever reason.

Then I run it up to a camp nano biner which is attached to half inch webbing via a marlin spike hitch

The webbing is wrapped around the tree front to back to avoid putting a bite into the strap. So there are two half inch straps bearing the load on the back of the tree.

The reason I am using the biner is because it is nice and smooth. I have found that Friction from hardware at the tree straps is bad for this type of suspension.

then it goes to a biner on the other tree...and then back down to the foot end of the hammock.

At this point I use two dutchware titanium biners in a garda hitch...and it works very very well.

Thats it...I hope the pictures got through.
