I guess you missed the other one with 55 mph gusts.

Y'all have fun. I bought a MollyMac Sock just for this trip but got my plans changed. MM go ahead and release those two trees you were saving for me. Looks like I will just be headed up to the Sipsey instead. Be safe everyone!

Thanks SM, every time I go up there I remember the spot where you hung-smart tucking into the brush like that. I also remember your grin when you were pulking out with a huge grin having survived.

Ear plugs packed for the wind?
And a name for the wind=the locals at Ripshin call them zephyrs.
Prediction: on the hike up the jeep trail the mountain should be shielding us from the wind, once your start cresting to the turn off for the shelter is when we'll get blasted.

You'll probably have a harder hike at Sipsey than we will this weekend. Don't forget to wake up a few water moccasins.

The Sipsey is more copperhead territory than cottonmouth but I'll see if I can stir one out of hibernation for you

AngrySparrow and Bankheadboy told me all the hogs in the Sipsey took care of the snakes for the most part. Do hogs hibernate?

I think they survive on shelter mice during the colder months.

No they just continue to breed. Three weekends ago I did not see that much damage. Maybe they have gone to Ripshin for the winter.
