That would not have been any fun at all. Maybe you can go with rstms and me next time?

I suppose since each span between tie out points is short it doesn't matter. I might try one like that sometime. Looking forward to seeing it.

I woke up at 2:30am and stuck my hand in between the underquilt and the waterproof layer. LOTS of condensation. So I got up and pulled the setup apart, took a bandana and wiped up all the condensation off of the layers (underquilt is made with 1.9 DWR so not much water got in). Then I reversed course back to the setup in the video. I thought that I might end up sleeping in a puddle of sweat, but no. I got up late at 8:00am, and reached between and NO CONDENSATION.

I'm convinced now. Youngblood was right (again ).
If you had a waterproof layer between yourself and that "fire breathing" underquilt and didn't have condensation on the inside I'm impressed! And baffled...

Pretty place - it's weird not to see snow covering everything like it is up here, and to see green leaves still on the trees.

I hiked in and out in short sleeves.

With the ongoing global warming, I'm kind of expecting to own beach front property at some point (without even having to move)...

Some cold is coming though. Next weekend it's going down to 14F at night supposedly.

Great trip - thanks for sharing. I went to Stone Mountain Park near Atlanta on Christmas eve. We hiked up the mountain but it wasn't hammock friendly on top - no trees and gusty, c o l d wind.
Picasa worked well for me. I put it on slideshow and let it rip!
    Again, thanks.
