Best way to form an eye in shock cord?

I just purchased two lengths of shock cord to fashion a suspension for my UQ. Only problem is, I need a ggod way to form an eye in each end, that won't slip when the cordage is stretched. Anyone have ideas?

    Figure 8 knot works well...
Live, Laugh, Love, if that doesn't work. Load, Aim and Fire, repeat as necessary...

A figure 8 tied on a bite (loop) sounds more secure than my usual overhand.
